Jailhouse...Not Coming

For those who are excited about the Jailhouse property [1], there is some bad news. It appears that this property will not be added to the normal version of the game and is only for new and returning players who get the special layout [1].  It seemed suspicious that only new and returning players were getting the Jailhouse so Mallory Knox decided to start investigating. He was told by a Customer Support agent that it was only added to new and returning player accounts to “help them catch up with the Game”. I guess since we already have 33 properties with another one is on the way, Zynga decided that a Jailhouse would help the others “catch up”!  I wasn’t excited looking forward to another property but those who like to build health were anxious to craft the +15 health item this property has to offer [1].

As previously posted, players with the Jailhouse can gift upgrade and crating parts to any player but those with the normal version of the game will get a Blue Mystery Bag instead of a property part [1]..

Help Sven De Lauwer Get His Account Back

There were and still are many parties involved in the Awe Lizzy saga [1], [2] . One person who got involved was Sven De Lauwer. Sven is a long time Mafia Wars player who has spent money on his account. He was one of many reported by Awe Lizzy and his Facebook account was banned. It is believed the fatal mistake was referencing in game kills on Facebook. Facebook uses automation to flag and/or ban accounts and the word "kill" is probably on their bots radar. We can all agree a kill in Mafia Wars has nothing to do real life killing. From Sven's tragic circumstances we should learn a lesson and refer to all kills as 2 ices when posting about them anywhere on Facebook! Many who were reported by Awe Lizzy have had their accounts returned but Sven still remains a victim. For those who have spent a lot of time and/or money, ask yourself how you would feel if your Facebook account was banned. A group was formed to help Sven and his campaign to get his account reinstated but it’s been too long. Please click on the link below to support Sven and to see what you can do to help. Sven is not the only one affected by his ban. He is the Godfather of the Belgium Best Family and now all of it’s members are without an in game Godfather. While all others are playing, Sven’s account sits idle as he has no way to access it.

If others try to visit his Facebook page, they are told the page isn’t available. It’s very sad that Facebook has so much control over any players Mafia Wars account.

While there was a positive response from Zynga, Sven is still waiting to get his former self back. Hopefully Zynga can explain to Facebook the reasons for the frivolous reporting that they acted upon. There needs to be more control on Zynga’s end as we are all at risk of losing our accounts at any moment.

Face-Off Voting Event

Players are starting to report that the Face-Off Event is now active. Not all accounts have it yet so be patient. The Mafia Wars Team gave us a preview of this event 10 days ago but not a lot of information [1]. There will be a series of 5 items and each one has a 2 day voting period. If you item wins the vote, you get to keep it. If it loses then you get 15 Power Cards as a “Consolation Prize” which most players would call a booby prize. I will post a poll for each of the 5 Face-Offs and hopefully everyone will win. The key to getting the loot is to vote with the majority. See below for more details and the rest of the loot items. The first poll can be found here. There were about 3,000 votes total and over 2,500 were for the Gazelle.

To play, simply click the item you are voting for and share the request with your mafia.

Once you are finished a red “VOTED” label will appear over the item you chose. Of course you can always buy a vote for the other item for 15 reward points. That will ensure you get one loot item for each Face-Off. The stats on these items are less than crate items so it would be best to use them more wisely.

Clicking on posts made by others will yield the clicker 1 Power Card up to 15 per day. The reset is at 12am PDT.

 I got nothing but an erroneous message but that could be because the event isn’t active on my account yet.

To get your 15 Power Cards, run the Stream Scanner and find these requests under the “FeedLimits” tab. You can also filter them by using the search feature. Type in “Vote” under the description.

The items for the next 4 Face-Offs are shown below. The best strategy will be to wait until you get a better idea what the popular vote will be. This of course assumes Zynga doesn't fudge any of the data. I don’t care how much one item is better than the other because any of these items are better than 15 Power Cards!

Hopper Version 3 was released today.  The old Hopper will be discontinued March 8th 2013.  You must upgrade as it will no longer function.

Here are some of the new fetures in Hopper 3:
